(Note: 3PM CST = Dallas TX time). We'll be circulating more info as the PdW_2.0 plans shape up. Logistics: Conferencing with us is pretty simple (but worth testing beforehand if you would kindly do that): 1. You need to use a browser based on (free/open!) Chromium. [Any alternate non-Chromium browser requires testing (at least) -- our results with non-Chromium browsers have been painfully unpredictable.] 2. At the appointed time Sunday Nov 3 you can join the conference simply by using your browser at: https://meet.jit.si/PdWeekend 3. When you join the conferene you will need to set permissions for the browser to use your microphone and/or camera in the conference (Those permissions are turned off when you close the browser. Or after the session you can re-boot your computer, unplug your mic tape your camera ... for your own security ad lib.) --- Note 1: You can download/use Chromium directly since it's free/open. I would NOT recommend using Google Chrome, since it brings in a lot of bad behavior with the Chromium capability. But if you don't want to install/use Chromium itself we have had some luck with other Crhomium-based browsers such as Opera, c.f. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chromium_(web_browser)#Active www.chromium.org/getting-involved/download-chromium en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opera_(web_browser) Note 2: You can test by logging in yourself at https://meet.jit.si/PdWeekend any time, or also you can use https://meet.jit.si/ on its own; setting up your own named conference area there instead. (Once you name the jit.si conference area, anyone with a browser knowing that "room name" could join you -- (I suppose you could even reach some of your "office hours" students that way from time to time if they're not on campus.)
